This installation, comprised of a series of doctored photographs and animation, examines the family archive as a remnant and a temple of its history.

 

A photo album forgotten outside had been transformed by time and weather, and though the photographs lost their historical credibility, they represent a stubborn attempt to know what had happened.

My grandmother, who carried many memories and became a memory herself, is both present in and absent from the photo album of her visit to London, where her life had been saved when she was sent there from Germany with the Kindertransport, on her way to the Land of Israel.
