Shame
Rotoscope Animation Installation, 2022
With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the city’s spaces closed down, forcing us residents to stay indoors. While public space had been reduced and revoked, the government saw an opportunity to invade individuals’ privacy and insert itself into the home space – in Israel, using similar methods to those regularly employed by the military to target Palestinian civilians.

In this project, I explore the sense of home during the pandemic, as it coincided with anti-democratic processes in Israel, including curbs on the freedom of movement, tracking of civilians, and restrictions on protests against the government. This work also features footage of my partner’s unprovoked and violent arrest at a demonstration.
