The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro Like a Drunkard

Examining the establishment’s ability to control individuals’ movement in the public space, this installation focuses on five central stations across Israel, using archive footage and manipulating it in various techniques.

Central stations have from the onset served a purpose as a tool for political and economic domination, and become in many cases intermediate spaces threatening their surroundings and users.

 

Examination of architectural elements provides political insight, and the use of archive footage poses questions on collective memory and how it is shaped.
